Exporting and recreating split PST files
Hello, Using Discovery Accelerator 9, I've exported out a significant amount of email for a custodian (about 50GB). I've selected to export as 'Original Type' and to encapsulate in a PST format. Doing this, I've run across a couple of questions that I'm not able to answer fully and I'm hoping someone here can do so. Question 1: The PST files split into 1.32GB size chunks and seems to divide the PST files exactly on this size (like a zip file). After looking at a PST file, it seems to possibly parse the msg files in different PST files. Meaning an email with one attachment can possibly save the email in one PST and the attachment in another. Is this something that it does? If so, is there an option to have it not do this? Question 2: After the above, it also looks like it does not retain original folder structures (maybe it never had one being in the archive). If this is correct, is there another method of export that may solve that? Thanks so much for any help.Solved2.2KViews0likes7CommentsDiscovery Accelerator 10.4 client failing after upgrade
First had the issue with installing, but go around that following the command line install method here. https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/accelerator-install-requires-uac-be-turned Once that is done, the client installs without issue. However, once the client is started - it sees the instance it needs to talk to, but upon attempting to connect it fails and closes out the client. This error is seen in the application log. Hello, We are using Discovery Accelerator 11 and one of the specific search we intend to do is to look for all the mails with a blank subject. In the search terms, for "Subject" we've tried to put the entry "" or to press space. But the system don't understand this command. Does someone knows how to do that? I've searched on the other posts but can't find someone else having the same problem. Thanks and regards1.3KViews0likes2Commentsdiscovery accellerator (11.0.1) search never start

I'm struggling to understand why the Discovery Accelerator 10.0.3 Client requires UAC to be turned off in order to be installed. The DA & CA client install doesn't offer a "Run as administrator" option. The user account that is logged in on this Windows 7 computer during the install is in the local administrator group. When I run the setup with UAC at the default setting, the following error appears: "The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file: C:\Program Data\regid.1992-12.com.symantec\regid.1992-12.com.symantec_Enterprise_Vault.swidtag." Why, oh why, does the installer not have permissions to modify a file IT is installing? Furthermore, why in the name of every system administrator does an install, while logged in as a local administrator, require UAC to be disabled? Rather than work with the heightened security that Windows 7 offers as a means of protecting systems from viruses and malware, why must we do the very thing we shouldn't have to do just to install a product - as an administrator?! I verified this by disabling UAC, restarting the computer and trying the DA client installation again - with success. Removing DA, putting UAC back to the default setting, restarting the computer and trying to install the DA client again results in the above error. Seriously, Symantec. Where is the "Run as administrator" option so we don't have to go through this just to install your product? Now we have to make sure the user is an administrator, disable UAC, restart, install DA, reset UAC to default, and restart again just to install a product once... and repeat the process when the next verison of CA or DA comes out.Solved968Views2likes3Commentsexclude external email address while including multiple custodians
I need to conduct a search in DA 10.0 for emails sent to or from a long list of custodians, while excluding any to or from one external email address. I've tried many different approaches but can't get any that work. If I were to write it out as a string, I'm looking for something like the following. To or from: (C:John Kennedy OR C:Harry Truman OR C:Theodore Roosevelt) AND NOT (HelenThomas@gmail.com) Any advice would be appreciated.
