veritas system recovery for windows 10
Has Symantec or Veritas released a Windows 10 version of SSR and I miss the notice? If not does anyone know a schedule date? I want to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 because some people say 10 is faster, but I will not until I have a good backup that I know will work without problems.551Views6likes2CommentsConverting Norton Ghost 15.0 to SSR 2013
We have recently received notification that Norton Ghost has been discontinued and consequently a free 60-day trial of SSR 2013 is being offered. It clearly states that Ghost must first be uninstalled, but nowhere is there any up front statement of "backward compatibility". The 309 page SSR 2013 User's Guide does not have the word "ghost" in the text. The absence, in your message to Norton Ghost users, of any reference to backward compatibility suggests that the two products are completely different. After all, if there was a simple conversion path, I am sure your marketing people would have made a clear, bold statement about this in trying to retain Norton Ghost users. Our assumption, therefore, is that SSR is not 100% backward compatible; and therefore we should be advising clients NOT to uninstall Norton Ghost, NOT to install the new SSR 2013, BUT to switch to Acronis True Image instead. Is our assumption a reasonable one? If not, where is the documentation about transition and conversion from Ghost to SSR? Obviously we are not going to risk our reputation or damage to clients based on casual and possibly ambiguous comments in a forum. At the very least, we would expect to see an officially documented Symantec technical statement about backward compatibility, transition, conversion tools, etc.2.9KViews5likes19CommentsCorrect backup policy
Hi all have some pcs that have more than one partition, and there is one or more among these partitions that i don't whant to backup, and some others that are small partition, without letter, reserved for the system (created at the installation of windows) For example, the simplest situation is: 3 partitions: -no letter - system reserver -c: the boot drive -d: some large archiving partition I don't whant to backup Now, in these situation, how to configure a correct backup policy? Actually, for those pcs, i configured a backup policy for the partition c:, but in case of crash, I think i would be in trouble, as I don't have a backup for the no-letter partition, that, beeing system reserver, should contain some system files i suppose. In pcs where there is no d partition, i configured to backup all partitions, and so also the no-letter partition is backed up. How to solve this problem? I configure backup policies from SSR manager, and the no-letter partition are not well-listed (there are many, and you don't understand wich is the one of the pc you whant to backup....)Solved490Views5likes5CommentsNeed I exit then join the domain while using SSR2013 to backup and restore my pc

I am trying SSR2013 it backup by C & D drives just fine, but when backing up my E drive (data Drive) the program locks up. I can copy all the data to the D drive and it will backup just fine. It takes about 20 minutes to back up the C & D drive with a copy of the E drive data on it. But the times that it does backup the E drive it takes about 1 1/2 hour, most time the program locks up. I am running windows 7 64 bit, UEFI bios, 2 500GB hard drives, C & D on one and E on the other. Has anyone seen this before?608Views3likes4CommentsIs the SRD.iso file for Norton Ghost 15.0 usable with SSR 2013 full ?
