Does anyone actually use EV.cloud or just the on premise EV?
I am researching an email archiving system for my company. Our reseller recommends EV. I agree that EV is a great enterprise level product but feel it might be too high end for our medium sized company. I am hesitant to deploy it due to the complexity as well as the high system requirements. We would end up with more EV servers than we have Exchange servers, which just seems crazy to me. We only have 2 on premise Exchange servers with less than 400 mailboxes and our total amount of email including journaled archives is around 12 TB. With that being said, I aminterested in EV.cloud especially since it saysno required hardware, software or client plug-ins are needed. However, in checking, there is very little information on EV.cloud. There have only been 29 threads created in a 2 year period with one of them asking how to move away from it.The consulting companies don't seem to have the experience or knowledge that they have with the on premise version. Is the product any good? I know Symantec's marketing makes it out to be a great product but would really like to hear ofreal world customer experience. Thank you.Solved3.6KViews3likes7Comments
Moving from EV Cloud to Ev 11 on-premises
Hello. Im just looking for some information in regards if this is posible or not. We have moved our Archiving out to the cloud. We had some issues and now we are looking to move back to on on-premises. My question is. For example the client access there archive via outlook / EV11 which is redirected out to EV cloud. Obtain the mailbox archive. then downloads the mailbox to on-premise storage for future accessing. A simple yes or no. any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated Thanks in advanced. Hi, I have Exchange 365 Exchange. I want to buy Enterprise Vault but i had some concerns that i want to archive mailboxes and want to check those emails on hand held devices as well. I checked one article on the web that Enterprise Vault will not archive Exchange 365 mailbox items. But Enterprise Vault.cloud can archive Exchange 365 mailbox items andwith this EV cloud we can check archived mails on hand held devices as well. On-Prem. EV --> Enterprise Vault.Cloud Migration path
We are running EV 9.04 currently with on-prem Exchange (500 mailboxes). We are exploring moving to O-365, but I'm not impressed with the discovery and archive handling offerings from MS. We have over 2tb of data in our on-prem vault and if we do move to 0-365, I don't want to use two seperate systems for our archive/discovery needs if I don't have to. Is there a migration path from on-prem Vault, I haven't found any documentation on migrating data from on-prem EV to Vault.cloud. As we evaluate which solution would be better/most cost effective/easiest to manage. I'd like to hear from anyone who has gone through a on-prem --> Vault.cloud migration and how it went.
