Symantec Backup Exec 2014
Hello to all, I am an intern in a mining company and we want to use a cloud backup solution as we have many small sites spread all over the world. So we are trying to find a solution that meets our needs. After searching about cloud solutions I found Symantec backup exec.cloud. I would like to inform me (if anyone knows) backupexec.cloud is a feature of Symantec backup exec 2014 or is it a product by itself? Furthermore, do we have to rent a space on a cloud company in order to store our data there? Does Symantec offers space for our data if we buy the backupexec.cloud? Thanks in advanceSolved2.2KViews0likes5CommentsVery Disapointed
I have installed Backup Exec.Cloud on 3 computers so far I think the product needs lots of help, Mainly the rate at witch data is transferred. All 3 clients had good bandwidth (at least 5MBS up and 20 down) The uploads are taking way to long. This morning i installed a client and selected a folder with about 200 meg in it and 9 hours later it is 20% complete, The other 2 clients are just as slow. This product IS NOT ready for primetime.Solved1.7KViews0likes5CommentsNo Agent Connection on DC
Hi There, I have just created an account and setup the agents for a company we work with over 5 servers. All the agents have installed and are successfully backing up except on the DC's. Both DC's are on Server 2003 Standard and the agent installed without an issue but one will not navigate to the webpage to be able to configure the agent just getting a 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage' and the other server shows the webpage but when you click 'Files and Folder' is shows a message about there not being any folders to backup (or a message similar to that). I have tried uninstalling the agent with the second error but it requires a restart before I can re-install so I need to wait until this evening to do that. Any help here would be great. Many thanks, S708Views0likes1CommentBackup Exec.cloud Extremely Slow
I downloaded and installed Backup Exec.cloud trial yesterday, and the transfer rate is extremely slow. I started the backup yesterday and only 280 MB have been transfered. I'm running Windows server 2003 with Exchange Server 2007. I'm trying to backup 120 GB of data. What can I do to try to speed up the process.1.2KViews0likes3CommentsSQL Restore from exec.cloud

How can I change retention period for backed up files? Or the whole storage? I'm backing up database dump and it's created again every night. There is no point to save files older than 2 weeks as this is 2nd level backup (if everything else fails or burns). Now storage gets filled over and over again with same files.Solved1.3KViews0likes3CommentsUnderstanding the Catalog
I'm having some difficulty understanding the Catalog. My minimum requirements are to be able to restore from B2D for 1 month and be able to see at least3 months in the catalog (for Tape) in order to meet our SLAs. I have my Catalog set to truncate after 3 months. If I try to restore, I can see back to 07/13/2012. If I look in my \Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Catalogs folder I can see catalogs dating back to 02/22/2012. Why can't I restore from 02/22/2012? Why the discrepancies? What is the Catalog actually looking at? (I am more interested in understanding than trying to accomplish a particular task.)Solved1.8KViews0likes6Comments
