Backup exec appliance OS crashed
Dear all, Im new to symantec and Im a system engineer for an oil and gas company.I need your thoughts and ideas on a problem Im facing.I have a symantec BE 3600 appliance which has OS windows server storage 2008 standard os.Recently,I cannot access the device remotely and using my cable.I want to reinstal the OS.IS it possible to just remove the first hard disc and install the os in it,then replace because i dont know on which hard disc the OS is installed1KViews0likes2Comments
Media Server Confiuration
Dear Experts, Kindly I need your help to solve the issue, please find the below information: - The Master Server is Solaris. - There are two Tape libraries connected with this media server through SAN switch. - I install their Drivers for both Controllers and Drives. - from master server topology the media server appears as connected, but from the media server itself it appears as not connected when I try to run a policy using this media device it gives me an error " robote in not active". Licensing question
Hi there, We need to procure backup exec license for one of our server. Would like to know which is recommended option. Anyone who have idea about licensing , can you share some ideas here. This is our backup environment, *One Master /Media physical server connected to Tape drive. (Dell R730) *One VM running on Vmware/Hyper-VM (not decided yet) need to be backed up. (2TB monthly full backup) Backup policy: Full backup - 2 month retention (4TB capacity) Daily Differential - 1 month retention _______________________ Do we need One backup exec Server license and one Backup exec Agent license, anything for tape drive? or capacity based license for 4 TB will be beneficial. Increasing Storage
Greetings to the well of knowledge... I know this has been discussed ad nauseam, but I don't think I've heard an answer to this one: Understanding that the storage would need to be reconfigured and that the current backup sets would be lost, can the physical disks in the appliance be replaced to increase capacity? Currently, there are four 1.8 TB drives in the appliance configured as RAID 5. Why can I not replace these with 3TB drives and rebuild the storage and the database? WebUI issue with BE3600
Hi, I did a Liveupdate yesterday and it did 100 Windows updates and BEX SP2 and Hotfix 227745. Now when I log into the WebUI, the manage tab fails and many of the settings tabs have empty data. It's a server 2008 R2 OS. I am in process of upgrading to the Backup Exec 2015 and doing some pre-req things. thx in advance for any assistance.1.3KViews0likes4Comments
Directory or File Not Found
I have a Backup Exec Appliance running Backup Exec 2014. It is backing up multiple Windows Servers and SQL databases. Everything is being backed up fine except for one server. This particular server is running Windows Server 2008R2 and has SQL 2008R2. I am receiving the following error: Final error: 0xe00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed. If I restart the Server with the problem, the backup runs fine for the first night, and then fails the next night. It will continue to fail until I restart the Server. I have tried setting up two individual jobs for this server. One job backs up the C:\ and other data, while the second job backs up only SQL instances. They are set so that the first job is finished well before the second runs, so there is no conflict there. The first job always runs fine, but the job for the SQL instances always fails with the above error. Also, the following error is in the job log as well: V-79-57344-34108 - An unexpected error occurred when cleaning up snapshot volumes. Confirm that all snapped volumes are correctly resynchronized with the original volumes. I have read solutions involving shadow copies on the server being backed up, but shadow copies are disabled on the server, so that should not be the problem.
