Hello praveen, Please check if you have multiple snapshot providers running on the server in question....open command prompt and run VSSADMIN LIST PROVIDERS If you see multiple snapshot providers listed in there...edit the backup job and click on advance open file option in left pane and force backup exec to where it says automatic select system- use microsoft software shadow copy provider and rerun the job....see if job is successful or not .... Please mark this as solution if this resolves your issue...

Awesome suggestion Mustansir,

Praveen please verify that that you have selected System - Use Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider under "Snapshot provider"

Please see the following document

Please verify, adjust, retry and report result

Additionally, check the event viewer on the server that you are backing up and see if you have any Event ID 12293. If you find any such event id the this technote should help.
