Hello Community,
since today I have the following problem:
When I stop the Backup Exec services or reboot the server, the Backup Exec Job Engine service will not start anymore.
I tried different users, start it manually but it still doesn't start. It's a win2003 server, Backup Exec 2010 is installed with all updates.
Any ideas? I'm looking for a soulution since hours......

Check the system log for any error messages.

If you try to start the service manually, what is the error message you are getting?
Have you tried clearing application logs from event viewer?
If not try once. Sometimes it worked for me...

Just change 'Region and Language > Administrative > Language for non-Unicode Programs' to 'English (United States)'

Hi,
1. check your account is administrator privilage.
2. check event viewer log when try to start backup exec service (It will help if you post it on this forum)

Hi Stefan,
A couple of additional steps you can take:
1. Use BEutility.exe to repair your DB, and then rebuild your DB indices.
2. Upgrade to the latest patches.
Do you perhaps have a CASO server involved in your environment...?
