Backup Exec 2012 Retention Time

Hello,

I'm having a problem with the retention time of my backups.

My backup scenario:Full weekly backups: Saturday; Differential backups: Monday till Friday

When Backup Backup Exec runs the next full backup it doesn't delete the old full backup though the keeping time for the full backups is set to 6 days. The backups stop beacuse my disk runs out of space.

When does Backup Exec delete the expired backup sets? At the beginning or at the end of a backup job? Is it possible to delete the old full set at the beginning of the job?

If you are using Disk Storage, then the backup sets in it is managed by DLM and DLM makes sure that the last backup chain is kept.  See my article below

i changed the registry key as described in the article. I will know more after the next full backup.
