when restoring there only empty folders and no data

Hey Guys,

I'm kind of new to backup exec 2010 R2 but I have a few questions. First let me put a scenario together to help illustrate my question. 

I want to restore my data from the tape. The process restore is always completed successfully. But when i see the restoring data there only empty folders and nothing documents.

Hi there,

When restoring data, for some stupid reason BE chooses a randomd date sometime in the past...just make sure that you correct this by choosing a date either just before, or on the date you want to restore from.

Once done, check and make sure that your data is shown.

That said, is it plain data, or application data you're trying to restore?

Did you backup a DFS-R location as if you did then you should have backed up the Shadow Copy Components.

Hence if you did a file system backup and restore of a DFS-R location then it will not restore the DFS-R folders as they were not backed up by the file system backup.
