Hi,
Anyone can please advise on below.
We are trying to add Applinace 5230(7.7.1) as media server to our existing SUSE enterprise linux 11-SP2 based Master server (7.6.1).
Above setup will run for few months before we upgrade our Master server to 7.7.x version.
Question: Do you think any issue with Master server on lower version side?, i know as per several documents, it is advisable to have Master server on higher side wih its own reason.
Kindly advise.
Diego

You will not be able to add the appliance with higher level to a Netbackup master server with lower level. The appliance configuration wizard would fail.
The Netbackup Master server SHOULD be at a higer or equal level than any other component in the environment.

7.7 software compatibility guide (this information is also in the 7.6 guide)

"NetBackup does not support any scenario where a media server or client runs a minor release version or software release update version that is higher than that of their Master server. "

7.7.1 would be a minor version ahead of the master and would not be supported.
