Max size for ddup storage

Hi

I am in th process of removing the tape backups from my enivroment. I backup 12tb on a single month end. I am planning to put in 250tb of disk in a Puredisk pool.

I run 7.6.1 on a 2012r2 server.

I am not clear if i will be able to use the full 250tb for a Puredisk pool, as you can only have one Puredisk pool per server this may make my 250tb a bit overkill.

Any info would really be helpfull.

Are you referring to PureDisk as a separate PD server or a PureDisk pool on MSDP server?

See this explanation in NBU 7.0 FAQ:

Q. How is deduplication in Netbackup 7 different than in PureDisk 6.6?

A. The NetBackup 7 deduplication technology uses the same engine as PureDisk. The biggest difference is that with NetBackup 7, there is no separate install; dedupe is built into NetBackup 7. NetBackup PureDisk continues as a viable option for customers who have unique requirements or large installments (petabytes of data).
