Backup server upgrade

hi,

we are upgrading veritas netbackup server 6.5.6 fron 2k3 32bit to win2k8 Enterprise R2 64 bit.I have below queries.

1. Can we go ahead with uppgrade

2. Can 2k3 veritas catalog be recovered  in win2k8 R2.If yes how

however netbackup 6.X is out of support... you need to upgrade your netbackup version also to get the support from Symantec techical support.

Yes. As per above TN, you can use hot catalog backup and restore to migrate to new hardware. But W2008 is only officially supported as Master server as from NBU 7.0. Schedule upgrade to 7.x (7.6.1.2 is latest version ) ASAP after hardware migration.
