Decommissioning of 5020 appliances in Netbackup

daveNBU
Level 2

Hi All,

I am looking to decommission two 5020 appliances from my netbackup environment and wanted to run my steps pass the forum, see if there is anything I have missed.

1. Carry out full catalog backup

2. Ensure all policies are NOT using 5020 storage target.

3. Copy of any active images from 5020 storage to another storage target

4. Expire any active images on 5020 storage

5. Delete Storage unit for 5020 appliances

6. Carry out image cleanup (nbdelete and bpimage)

7. Down the disk pool for the 5020 appliance

8. Use nbemmcmd to remove the associated references to the 5020 appliances

9. Restart NB services

Thanks in advance

Look good - You however need a step to delete the PDDO storage server

Pls see for reference: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH150431

Pls note: Netbackup will not allow you to delete resources if active images are assigned.
