IBM Orchestrator and NetBackup

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to find an answer to my question and i would have thought that the IBM website would be helpful, but they have more holes in their documentation than Swiss cheese.

We are looking at implementing IBM Orchestrator for automation and would like to know if it could be used to automate the NetBackup software install and adding to a backup policy/schedule for backup protection.

I found one presentation from 2 years ago, where they mention that it is support, but I would just like to get an official document or support matrix where it is stated black on white. Heck, I would even be happy with a troubleshooting document with regards to my proposed setup.

The bad news ...

I've just searched all technotes, etracks and case notes and don't get a single return for IBM Orchestrator, so we don;t appear to have any documentation on it.

Unfortunately, I personally have not heard or (until now) this product, so I think the best you can do is :

1.  Hope someone else on the forum can assist

2.  Speak to IBM directly
