Just installed a new Master/Media server running Windows 2008R2. 32GB ram, two dual 8Gbps HBA, Dual 4 core Intel Xeon E5-2609v2.

Connected to the network @ 4Gpbs (4 x 1G) links.

4 Tape library's (IBM 3573) with 4 HH LTO 6 3580 (fibre).

I am running 7.5.1 right now but going to upgrade to 7.6.1 this week.

1. Is one Master media server ok for this configuration or should have split the library's onto another media server?

2. Overkill for the RAM/CPU? If not how can I maximize useage of what I have? With half the tapes being utilized by jobs the system is only using 5.35GB of system memory.

3.  What would be the best tuning options for my setup?  (data buffers, number of and size.. etc)

Thank you.

number of clients and size and type of the data is also one of the consideritions to tune the Master servers

Perfromance tuning is explined in below doc, though its says 7.0-7.1 it is valid for 7.5
