How much free space do you have where NBU is installed at ?

On the master server :

Check : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\Config

- double click on server and confirm the master server is listed first and all other servers listed exist.
- Confirm the client, browser and EMM_SERVER key are the master server.

If this is unix, confrim the bp.conf is correct.

Confrim the host and services file is correct.

Are all services running ?  Espically nbemm and  dbsrv  ?

Do you have the GUI running directly on the Master server or is it on a remote Windows system with the admin console installed but logged into the Master?

(command is in <install-path>\veritas\netbackup\bin)

try this

1. Stop all NetBackup services:
From <install_path>\NetBackup\bin, run bpdown -f -v

2. Stop PBX if started, then start PBX:
  • Right click My Computer, Select Manage
  • Expand Services and Applications in the left pane and click Services
  • Right click the VERITAS Private Branch Exchange service in the right pane and click Stop if it is started
  • Right click the VERITAS Private Branch Exchange service in the right pane and click Start

3. Start all NetBackup services:
From <install_path>\NetBackup\bin, run bpup -f -v

4. Check the Windows Event Viewer application log for any error or indications why the PBX service has stopped.  If the problem persists, address the errors seen
  • Right click My Computer, Select Manage
  • Expand Event Viewer in the left pane and click Application

I have moved the new question that was added to an old, unsolved post to a new discussion: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/unable-connect-emm-server-error77
