Thanks again for your input. We have decided to just move the servers temporarily to a new policy and specifically just back up the previously excluded directories to pick up those directories and file.

Since the mtime, atime, and ctime of the directories/files that were used to be in the excluded_list did not change then these would not be backed up by an incremental backup. Looks like the only way if to run a FULL backup to pick up these directori...

I copied a previously excluded file to a new file and assigned the attributes of the of the old file. NetBackup did not backup this incremental change. I would think regardless of the date as long as it is a change, NetBackup should back it up.
