  • Hi there,

All HP ProLiants (except for the horrible DL/ML100-series which aren't true HP servers apparently!) come with a SmartStart CD/DVD. You need this in order to get the OS to install.

What you can do is to get hold of this CD from an HP supplier and get the physical media.

Alternatively, get the software from the website below:

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=za&prodNameId=344318&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=345557&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1005

Sorry, it is a very long URL! Download it, write it to disk, and then boot from it. You will need to get into the screen to configure your RAID. I think this is the configuration tab if I remember correctly. Once you have configured your RAID level, exit the ACU, and then go to Deployment (again, if I remember correctly) and from here you can choose your OS.

The first part of the process is to load all the drivers and software that HP needs, and once done, the CD ejects, and you're prompted to insert the Windows CD. Follow the prompts from there.

    Thanks!

EDIT: And in case you really get stuck, check the link below for a step-by-step guide...

  • At startup you can use f8 to go to the raid controller.

delete all logical partitions and create a new one.

But be carefull. All data is gone when you do that.
