Configuring VxVM under VCS failover Service Group

Hi All,

I am planning to configure the VxVM under VCS for a failover service group. Could any one please help me to configure this?

My doubt is,

As the disks and diskgroup have dmid & dgid. How the system2 will import the diskgroup if the diskgroup has been created in the system1 in the cluster?

Is there any options for that?

Thanx

  • Hi,

    I've got some questions:
    - Which OS are you using?
    - Which version of VCS and VXVM?
    - Do you have shared disks in a SAN or a shared storage? Do you use Data-replication (Host-based or storage-depended-mirroring?)

Normally, If both hosts see the shared storage, you could import the disks on both.

  • Hi,

    The OS is  HP-UX11.23
    VCS - 3.5
    VxVM - 3.5 (Not a Shared volume manager )

I have SAN Disks available for both the hosts. Now it is working on LVM.

So whenver a service group fails in host1 the volume group's are mounted in the host2 with the help of VCS & the service group starts running on the host2.

I want the same setup with VxVm instead of LVM.

    So how can configure this?

    Thanx
