The Technical Services team for Backup and Recovery have produced a number of documents we call "Blueprints".
These Blueprints are designed to show backup and recovery challenges around specific technologies or functions and how NetBackup solves these challenges.
Each Blueprint consists of:
Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft. As a database, it is a software product whose primary function is to store and retrieve data as requested by other software applications, be it those on the same computer or those running on another computer across a network (including the Internet).
There are at least a dozen different editions of Microsoft SQL Server aimed at different audiences and for workloads ranging from small single-machine applications to large Internet-facing applications with many concurrent users. Its primary query languages are T-SQL and ANSI SQL.
Organizations continue to experience an increase in data growth year over year. With this, the IT environment consisting of storage and backup infrastructure must be scalable and robust to ensure effective data protection strategies. Additional workloads and applications result in lower RPO and RTO objectives.
Symantec NetBackup has provided deep integration with the Microsoft SQL application to provide database and transaction log backup and recovery capabilities.
As an established market leader in data protection, Symantec NetBackup provides unparalleled next-generation data protection by minimizing costs and complexity and ensuring greater business continuity with a solution that unifies desktop, remote office, and data center protection across the entire enterprise.
