Just give me till tomorrow and I'll make my own isolation on the Interbase application to work around things for you. One thing more regarding your reply: 1.On booting, we see the Interbase server process (interbase and guardian services) is stopped by Backup Exec. - Thus this mean that this server is being shutdown on daily basis? 2. It is inconvenient to have to manually restart Interbase after 3 minutes. - Thus this mean that Interbase server application stops every 3 minutes? Is this still related to SBE? I'm sorry but I have to ask you these things to make further analysis and isolation. Regards, Norms Re: How to use barocodes? Hello Stutronic, I got what you mean. You are havingLTO tapes with barcode sticker on it, and this sticker referred as barcode is red by your SBE right? I guess you know to inventory the tapes and assign what tapes you are using and going to media and stuffs like that. So i'll go to the main course. All you need to do is to make a partition on your SBE. Then after having your sets of partitions you may insert each tape e.g. barcode 0000001 to partition 001....001 and so on. Then when creating a job, like for example "Daily Monday", choose the partion where you put the corresponding barcoded tape and it will use said barcoded tape you assigned and choose on the scheduled date and time of your backup procedure. Hope this helps Re: Tape Alert Warning Good day Aerosmith, I've encountered the same problem as yours, and BE 11d, has nothing to do with it. You may have to check your library by pressing the lib button and check for the version of your exabyte library. Donwload the latest firmware and upload it to your exabyte, but in order to do this, you must also download the application in exabyte website and that is www.exabyte.com. Find the model of your library and download the file and GUI application. If this doesn't help at all, try checking your library menu and you may find errors, either right or left arm is damaged. Hope this helps. Re: Interbase 5.6 is shut down after Backup Exec initialises Hello Malcolm, I would like to ask you something, thus this BE 11d application is residing the same with Interbase? Are you backing-up the main Interbase application as well? Because we are also using Interbase application version 7, but BE 11d is located in one of our servers and not together with Interbase. We do not backup the application as well. Just the data that was generated by the Interbase. If in case that in your backup procedure, you are backing up the interbase application, it may stop the Interbase server process by terminatingany Interbase connection or put it in a stop server status. Be sure that you are just backing-up the .gdb file rather than backing up the whole interbase application. Hope this helps. Re: Ready;no idle devices are available Hello Agatha, This answer is just base on my experience using BEx 11D. First is, if you are using a Tape Library like LTO and DLT, this may help you in any way. You might have to check if you're library is up and running. You might have to initialize your library before scheduling especially if you've installed your library for the firsttime. Be sure to incorporate your partition tablewith your library. Go under option of your BEand look for storage wizard, don't remember but it's under BE options. Finally, try to shutdown your backup server, then try restarting your library first before turning on your backup server. This error pertains mostly with your library or device attachedwhen backing up your dataif you are using one. Hope this might help.
