I could say without question that I HATE was Veritas has become. There software (version 8 and earlier) used to be bulletproof. Lately, I have spent the better part of my days trying to "work around" their horrible software. What other backup solutions are available? That is my next course of action, because this is getting out of hand. TommyRe: Unable to do a complete restore in Veritas 10OK, so that seemed to work! So, the new version of BackupExec must have some kind of bug in it, where is does not know how to deal with a particular file it is trying to restore. If I could figure out how to turn on logging of EVERY file being restores, I can narrow it down to exactly where the problem is, but instead, I de-selected a whole section (about 10 folders and subfolders) where the job seemed to stop. If I have time, I will try restoring that section ONLY and see if the problem exists. I don't have time for this!!! Mine happens to stop at 4.384 gigs every time. I dug through to find out around what section of data is is stopping around, so I de-selected those folders, and I am trying again. IF this works, then it maybe getting stuck on a particular file or folder. I'll reply either way. BTW, version 9 was fine, and I am really unhappy with version 10. This is not the first headache I've had with version 10..... TommyRe: Cannot restore Windows Server 2003 after attackI am having the same problem. I have a Dell PowerEdge 2650 running Windows 2003 Before I put this server in production, I want to make sure I can do a full system restore. I do this with all my systems. I reloaded Windows 2003 Server, usiung the Dell assistant CD, and reinstalled the backupagent. I try a full restore (with NO hardware changes since the backup was done), and it completes successfully. When I go to reboot, I get the same blue screen PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED 0x0000006B (0xC000007A,0x00000008,0x00000000,0x00000000) There is NO driver name displayed on this blue screen. I need to get this squared away. Thank you. Tommy
