Accelerator for a VMWare Backup Policy with AIR
Hello Experts, I am using NBU 7.7.3. I have a VMWare policy querying a cluster for an annotation to backup some clients. This policy has 4 schedules. Each Schedule has override policy storage selection checked with a corresponding AIR (Automated Image Replication) SLP's as the selection. The Storage selected in the SLP is an EMC DataDomain Storage unit (Using OST Plugin) setup as a Source for AIR. Attached some screenshots. With this setup, Should the 'Use Accelarator' Option be available for selection on the policy? Currently I see it grayed out.3.3KViews0likes9CommentsNetbackup Backup Replication
Hi, I have 2 Windows 2012 R2 Servers in different domains running NBU 7.6 Master Server on each. I am trying to replicate a backup from one server to the other so that if one server goes down, there is a full backup on the other. I have tried using AIR to achieve this but I don't seem to be getting the full image copied over to the other server, I understand that it uses dedupe so any data that is already on the server won't be copied, but even after the first backup the amount of data replicatedis nowhere near what was backed up. The backup job and replication job both show as successfully completed on one server and the import shows as successful on the other. I did follow the guide here:http://www.settlersoman.com/how-to-configure-netbackup-auto-image-replication-air/ as I could not see any official veritas guide. Is there something wrong with this setup or is there another way to do what I want?Solved3KViews0likes11CommentsNetbackup AIR over FC consuming a lot of network bandwidth
Hello, NBU version 8.2 Master server Linux Appliance 5240 version 3.2 We are facing issue with replication jobs. All the instructions in the guidelines for setting AIR using fibre channel are followed. The replication jobs work well, and the speed are quite high, so we thought that the replication over fc is working accordingly. However, about a week ago, network team found out that netbackup appliance are consuming a lot of bandwidth during replication (not sure since when this actually happened), so they put a cap to limit the consumption of bandwidth for netbackup replication. The network report show that the port that is going through the LAN network is 10082, which is the spoold port. Logging the case to veritas support doesn't help at all. They said that data and spoold and data transfer should go through only one way(fc or lan). But clearly that is not the case. Now, there are a lot of replication jobs running with no progress(0kb), especially the big sized ones. Even the small size image is replicating very slowly. So obviously network capping is taking effect. Appreciate if someone in here colud help me with this. Mu current NetBackup environment consists of a 7.7.3 Master server running Solaris 11 using AIR to another 7.7.3 Master server running Solaris 11.Is there an order for upgrading the Master servers when AIR is being used i.e. does the remote Master need to be upgraded first or it doesn't matter? Are there any other issues I should be aware of? Should the Security Certificates all be generated on the source Master? Thank you.Solved1.9KViews0likes4CommentsIs there any NBU command/syntax to check the duration&speed of each completed AIR/replication job?
Hi guys, I just want to know if there's a specific NBU command/syntax to get the duration and speed of replication that lapse in Activity Monitor. I've tried the command "nbstlutil" but there's no output I needed. Hoping someone can help me thank you. :( # /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbstlutil repllist -U -sincetime 2021/04/03 | more /find PROD-VMWPSAPDB01_1617382856 Image: Master Server : VMLPNBUINF01 Backup ID : PROD-VMWPSAPDB01_1617382856 Client : PROD-VMWPSAPDB01 Backup Time : 1617382856 (2021/04/03 01:00:56) Policy : VMWPSAPDB01_AIR_BACKUP Client Type : 40 Schedule Type : 0 Storage Lifecycle Policy : Monthly_HO_TO_DR Storage Lifecycle State : 3 (COMPLETE) Storage Lifecycle Is Inactive : false Time In Process : 1617410995 (2021/04/03 08:49:55) Data Classification ID : (none specified) Version Number : 1 OriginMasterServer : (none specified) OriginMasterServerID : {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} Import From Replica Time : 0 (0 secs) Required Expiration Date : 0 (0 secs) Created Date Time : 1617382856 (2021/04/03 01:00:56) Copy: Master Server : VMLPNBUINF01 Backup ID : PROD-VMWPSAPDB01_1617382856 Copy Number : 102 Copy Type : 3 (REPLICATE_TO_REMOTE_MASTER) Expire Time : 1648918856 (2022/04/03 01:00:56) Expire LC Time : 1648918856 (2022/04/03 01:00:56) Try To Keep Time : 1648918856 (2022/04/03 01:00:56) Residence : *Remote*Master*:Monthly_HO_TO_DR Copy State : 5 (COPYCOMPLETE) Job ID : 70850 Retention Type : 0 (FIXED) MPX State : 0 (false) RetryCount : 4 Last Retry Time : 1621258574 (2021/05/17 21:36:14) Source : 1 Destination ID : (none specified) Replica: : 0 DataFormat : 0 (DF_UNDEFINED) SLP Index : 2 Replication Target: Source Master Server: VMLPNBUINF01 Backup ID : PROD-VMWPSAPDB01_1617382856 Copy Number : 102 Target Machine : PMLRMSDPINF01 Target Info : PureDiskVolume Remote Master : (none specified)1.7KViews0likes6CommentsNBU Auto Image Replication
I am trying to setup auto image replication between 2 NBU master servers (2 separate NBU domains). When I attempt to create my storage server using the storage server configuration wizard, it creates the storage server successfully then moves to creating a disk pool. On the select disk pool properties page I can see all of my current storage server volumes listed. But when I select “Replication target” or “Replication source”, all of the storage server volumes disappear from the list? I’m not sure why this is happening or what I am missing in my setup?? If I go ahead and create the disk pool and subsequent storage unit, then open up the storage unit properties I do not see the Replication tab. Both NBU master servers are fully licensed. I have created a trust relationship successfully between both NBU master servers. My environment: NBU 7.7.3 Win2012 R2 (both master servers) OST Plug-in installed (both master servers) HPE StoreOnce backup systems both using 10GbE Catalyst Stores Disk storage = OpenStorage Storage Server type = hp-StoreOnceCatalyst Screenshots provided. Any thoughts?1.5KViews0likes3CommentsConfigure targeted AIR
Hello, I'm trying to configure a targeted AIR between two master servers, but I can not understand what must be done differently for targeted AIR. Can anyone point to me the steps for configuring targeted AIR, or at least where in the configuration is the difference between "regular" and "targeted" AIR ? hey guys, As part of a project, we have configured the backup on the Atmos cloud, the backup has done well and we want to do the AIR replication with another site on which there is the MSDP on netbckup 7.6.0.4, my first question: Is it possible to make this replication betweenAtmos cloud and the MSDP? And the second: if i upgrade the target server to 7.7.2, what are the steps to set up AIR replication in this case? thank you in advance for your helpSolved1.1KViews0likes1Comment
