BE 12.5 Cannont Add SharePoint Farms
Community, Working with Backup Exec 12.5 in a test environment to test backup and restores from our production environment. I installed SharePoint 2007(SP2) on Windows server 2003 (SP2), SQL 2000 (SP4) and .net 3.5 (SP1)one one server and Windows Server 2003 (SP2) Backup Exec 12.5 (SP4)with SQL and SharePointagents licensed,in a simplistick setup with pretty much all the defaults. When I try and add the SharePoint server as a SharePoint resource I get the error: "None of the Web servers for the specified server farm could be accessed." I can successfully connect backup and restore SQL, but that isn't the method used on our production. I've tried every article/discussion I could find related to this error, any advice or troulbeshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. Also attached is the debug when I try to add thesharepoint server farm Backup Server: *************************************************************************** ***** SGMon log for \\BACKUP2003 ***** *************************************************************************** BKUPEXEC: [03/05/13 10:36:16] [3148] luster" key does not appear to be present in the registry BKUPEXEC: [03/05/13 10:36:16] [3148] iled to open Microsoft cluster () BKUPEXEC: [03/05/13 10:36:16] [3148] S cluster keys do not appear to be present in the registry BKUPEXEC: [03/05/13 10:36:16] [3148] iled to open VCS cluster () BESERVER: [03/05/13 10:36:16] [3356] -1 Client requested key (1362447526). Hello everyone, We just solved an issue with Symantec Technical Support and I would like to share the solution with you guys since it's currently not possible to find the solution anywhere else. Since I'm not allowed to add a reply to the following thread with the same error code (another resolution) I might as well create a new one. https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/error-backing-sharepoint-2007-sp2-error-code-no-exact-matches-found-v-79-57344-37930 Issue The issue was that we were trying to back up a Sharepoint 2007 farm but the backup failed instantly. The message below is found in the job log. Error code: 0xe000942a The job failed with the following error: Backup Exec did not find any virtual machines to dynamically include in the backup. V-79-57344-37930 The account used for backups was in the Domain Admins group and was added as System Administrator on both the databases as well as Farm Administrator in Sharepoint. System admin is simply not enough. That's it! Try to run the backup again. To All Experts here, I'd like to perform a complete MOSS 2007 content disaster recovery from the existing single instance server (SQL Server 2008, Windows Server 2008, SharePoint 2007 SP1) all in one and into the newly built server with the same name. I have created the new Windows Server 2008 R2 + SQL Server 2008 SP1 and MOSS 2007 SP2 and I haven't execute the server configuration wizard to create the same port number of the SSP, CA and the SQL Server DB yet. Assuming the old server name MOSSDEV01 has been destroyed, how can i make sure that the user can still access the MOSS 2007 content without having to experience broken link here and there and tell them to update all of the bookmarks ? What does the BE 2010 SharePoint agent do in this case ? which DB is backed up ? Any idea and suggestion would be greatly appreciated Thanks.Solved325Views3likes2CommentsLarge Incrementals for SharePoint 2010 backups on BE 2012
I have an agent installed on my SharePoint server and I'm backing up the whole server. It's a recent add to our backup jobs. I've noticed that it is consistently giving me daily incrementals of 250GB of changed data. I know it's getting nearly no use from my company as we're in the initial phases of ramping up into SharePoint. In comparison, I've got incrementals of our Exhchange server, all the DBs for Dynamics, the file server, a few virtual machines, and it's only like 30-50GB for the daily incrementals. I do not have dedupication for the SharePoint server, but if I did purchase it would it reduce the size of the backups? I'm assuming this large size is due to our pre-allocated DBs in SharePoint that aren't full? Thoughts?Solved776Views2likes2Commentsbackup Performence
