Hi Everyone, I’ve got all in one Exchange Server 2007 SP1 RU3 that got all in one role installed (HT-CAS-MBx) in Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 SP which is also running as domain controller with all FSMO role. I’m planning to migrate all mailbox in the Exchange Server 2007 into the Exchange Server 2010 Standard that I have prepared in my Virtual Machine of Windows Server 2008 R2. In my current Exchange Server 2007 SP1 I've backed up the mailbox using Backup Exec 2010 in case i can just restore the backed up mailbox into the new server 2010 if possible. (Please also note that this Exchange Server 2007 SP1 got so many problem like – OOF email error in Outlook 2007, meeting scheduler stopped working, etc… therefore updating it into SP3 is not the way here) Any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, AWTSolved560Views2likes4CommentsBackup Exec 2010 R3
Hi All, We have a Quantum Superloader 3 and were running Backup Exec 2010 R2. Compression was working fine and with the LTO 5 tapes it was all fitting on a single tape. We then upgraded to R3 and we get no compression. I can force compression to be enabled on the Superloader 3 but as soon as I run a print job from R3 it sets it to disabled again. What is going on? I may have to go back to R2 if there is no hotfix. With no compression our backups are running into 3 tapes!303Views1like0CommentsHelp with restoring individual email with Backup Exec 2010
Hello everyone; I'm new in the forum and is my first post :o). I have looked around but haven't found a solid answer to the following question: I use Backup Exec 2010 and I'm trying to restore a single email from a user's mailbox. Everytime I try to restore the job it starts fine but it fails becauseit tryis to restore the complete information store, how can I do it so that it only restore the single email or folder that I want? is that possible? or must I restore the whole information store? I use Exchange 2007 and both exchange and backup exec are in a Windows 2008 server. HEre are the errors: Restore- \\EMAIL\Microsoft Information Store\Fourth Storage Group V-79-57344-33935 - The path on the media server for staging temporary restore data when restoring individual items from tape ran out of disk space. So I do a fresh install of BE (Server 2008 R2 64bit), drop four LTO4 tapes in my Dell 124T, Initialize the Library, do an Inventory and Import the four tapes. Now I have my tapes listed under "scratch media", however, under Media description, they all say "Unrecognized Media". When I try To run a backup job I get "The media labeled '000030L4', from slot '13', read by drive 'IBM 0001' is written in an unrecognized format. Erase the media to make it usable." and then "Please insert overwritable media into the robotic library using the import command." Yes, I've tried erasing the media but to no avail. These are completely new tapes. What am I missing here?Solved803Views1like6CommentsVMWare backup failing
Hello all, I've got an issue when trying to backup vSphere 4 VMs using Backup 2010R2. It's an intermittent issue, so I'm not exactly sure of the cause. I have between 15-20 VMs to be backed up. Everytime I run a backup job I will get one or two VM backups failing with the error below>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Job Completion Status Job ended: Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 5:27:51 AM Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe00095a7 - The operation failed because the virtual center or ESX server reported that the virtual machine's configuration is invalid. Final error category: Resource Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-38311 It's frustrating, because I will then run a seperate job after the failed job and the VMs complete without any errors. The link that Symantec provide does not contain any information. The credentials for the job are good, the media device is a local disk - not sure if any further information is required! Any thoughts? Cheers Magyar2.6KViews1like15Comments
