We have money to spend - any advice?
Hi to all, We currently have 1 x NB 6.5.4 (Win2003) Master Server with a SCSI attached Dell TLD containing 6 x LTO3 tape drives. Additionally we have 1 further media server (Win2003) which we use for disk backups (occasionally as it is extremely slow!). We also have 1 x NOM (Win2003) server and 1 x NB PureDisk 6.5.1.2 (PDOS) server which has 2TB of local disk space. We have noticed that since we introduced multiple copy backups and all 6 Tape devices are in use, the NB platform slows to a halt. We are going to try and spread the load around a bit more. Our thinking is that we buy a media server for each of the 3 LAN's that have servers that we backup (SQL DB and File/Folder backups mainly). Each of these new media servers would either have a lot of local disk storage or would use DAS hardware. We are keen to get more out of our PureDisk software and are considering beefing that up and making it a clustered environment to an offsite device. Quite simply, I have been asked to provide a design document and I wanted to ask if anyone had any reccomendations on how they think we should invest? Our largest backups are around 2TB and these happen on a weekly basis. We also send tapes offsite on a weekly basis for the critical backups so we are not keen on disk-only solutions. We are happy to upgrade to NB7.0 too if this has any relevance with regards to our forthcoming hardware purchase. Any advice greatly appreciated..... Hi, I have one query? We have netbackup 7.7.2 and SAP HANA with multitenant database container. For one instance we have to do following configurations on SAP HANA studio: Create hdbbackint soft link from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/opt/hdbbackint to /usr/openv/NetBackup/bin/hdbbackint_script for every database instance. The parameter file (initSAP.utl) must be specified for data in the SAP HANA database instance configuration. To specify the parameter file, go to Instance->Configuration-> global.ini > data_backup_parameter_file. The parameter file (initSAP.utl) must be specified for logs in the SAP HANA database instance configuration. To specify backup using the parameter file, go to Instance->Configuration->global.ini-> log_backup_parameter_file. To specify backup using the backint file, go to Instance->Configuration->global.ini-> log_backup_using_backint->SYSTEM = true. My problem is that how to configure backup for multitenant database container (For multiple Instance ) We have cluster "Dev" with multitenant database container having 3 instance "Dev" "Quality" and "SystemDB" The problem is that DBA is telling that create hdbbackint soft link from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/opt/hdbbackint to /usr/openv/NetBackup/bin/hdbbackint_script . DBA inform us that,It is not possible due to Database instances in SAP HANA database will be in hidden mode. So we cannot create the links. Requesting you to help me in this. new esxiis not viewable when browsing from Netbackup console
recently , i faced problem to get the new esx server backup via the flashbackup -windows policy . Because im unable to browse the new esx host from the client selection list. I have checked that the C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\online_util\fi_cntl vc.host.xml didnt show the new esx host name. But from the GUI , im unable to view it . I have also cleared the all files on the fi_cntl and restart the netbackup service on the vmware backup host. But still the same . Is there any method to force a update . bpclntcmd -clearhostcache?Solved1.8KViews0likes11CommentsVMware backup failures with status code 200
Having a heck of a time trying to figure this out. 14 of my 21 VMware policies are failing with a status code 200 for some reason. Credentials are good and we can do a test query with no issues. Windows 2012 VMware Backup Host 5.5 Update 2 7.6.0.2 and I verified the VDDK is 5.5.0 I have attached all of the logs that would actually run. I cranked VXMS up to 5, but no log was created as I am guessing it just doesnt get that far into the process.
