Hi, I am currently involved in a globalisation project for the entire Netbackup Estate across the UK/ USA/HK and have set up a cetralised OpsCenter server based in the USA, firstly is it Ok to have a Master Server reporting into two OpsCenter servers? as I am doing this as part of the switch over, not sure if I can migrate the databases as my server in the UK is a 7.5.0.7 running on Wintel and the new USA based server is running 7.6.0.1 on RHEL...... With regards to the reporting functions the timezones if set to default will be as per the USA, I can setup a local account and set that tmezone differently, I have actually done this for my UK based account, but is there a way to set server groups based on regions? Any help would be appreciated KevSolved505Views2likes1CommentOpsCenter 7.6 Upgrade Purge Setting Changes - Important for Analytics Users - Please Read!
In OpsCenter 7.6, purge settings will change from 420 to 220 days. For fresh 7.6 installations, there should be no cause for concern. However, upgrades from previous versions of OpsCenter, could cause a large amount of historical job information to be purged from OpsCenter. Symantec NetBackup OpsCenter 7.6 Administrator's Guide PDF http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5042 pg. 254 Note: Before OpsCenter 7.6,the default data purge period for the backup jobs data was 420 days. In case of OpsCenter 7.6 upgrade, the default data purge period that is displayed for backup jobs data depends on what you had in the previous OpsCenter version. If you retained the default data purge period in the previous OpsCenter version (that is 420 days), in OpsCenter 7.6, it is set to 220 days. If you changed the default data purge period in the previous OpsCenter version, the same period is displayed in OpsCenter 7.6. For example: If you changed the default period in OpsCenter 7.5 from 420 to 500 days, in OpsCenter 7.6, it is set to 500 days In short, if you have never changed your default purge settings from 420 days (default) in OpsCenter 7.0, 7.1, or 7.5, and upgrade to 7.6, your default will become 220 days. When OpsCenter triggers its purge cycle, 200 days of historical information will be lost. Please Note: This is only for users that have never modified the default purge setting of 420 days, in previous releases.483Views2likes0CommentsExchange and SQL Database Reports in OPS Center?

Hi, I know that Opscenter should be equal to, or higher than the Netbackup version being montitored, but I am unsure if this includes Rollup patches too. Can I monitor Netbackup 7.5.0.5 with my current Opscenter installation of 7.5.0.3 ? (Or do I need to upgrade it to 7.5.0.5 also) Thanks NickSolved607Views2likes2Commentsgenerate a custom report using OpsCenter Analytics
NBU 7.6.0.3 it seems Symantec has left out an obvious report that is needed by many admins. i'm referring to this link which is also looking for the same custom report i am looking: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/how-generate-report-all-backup-jobspolicies-schedulestart-time-and-retention i too have tried the custom reports but i cannot get it to report to what i need which is: Backup policy name Schedule (daily/weekly/monthly) Start Time Exchange Backup Daily 23:00 Oracle Backup Weekly 23:30 if one has a report like that, it would be easy to see if my backup schedules are overlapping or there are some gaps.2.4KViews1like9CommentsHow to purge data for a single client in Opscenter
Hello, We are seeing a client name showing in Opscenter that does not have any valid Data on netbackup side (either configuration or backup image data). When running VMware policy types, and selecting VM's via query, what is the best / recommended way to report onthe status of clients which were scheduled to backup in the previous 24hrs ? i.e. success / failure / missed. I don't see an issue with the success / failure reports as they are covered in the standard set of reports, but how do I best see if a client backup which was schedules to run did not run (i.e. was missed for any reason) ? I need to be able the schedule a report to run each morning to provide this information. Site in question does NOT have analytics. Hi all, I'm trying to understand why we cannot have an indexing server on an OpsCenter server. All references I have found, states it must be installed on a media server. I my case this is not possible, as all media servers are NBU appliances, the master server is a clustered RHEL6, and the only Windows server is the OpsCenter server. I cannot find any information why it can not be co-hosted on an OpsCenter server. After all, it is only the OpsCenter server we can use the functionaliy through, right? Is this a purely performance consideration? I can surely make the OpsCenter a dummy media server? Any thoughts? /A478Views1like1CommentConnecting OpsCenter securely with multiple backup servers
I have few questions on setting up a centralized OpsCenter monitoring solution for our Backup Environment. Please help me with the following: 1) We have multiple datacenter and I want to monitor all the backup servers in one OpsCenter (centralized). Three environment need to share the data over internet. I want to ensure that opscenter get the data securely. How can I do that? How to ensure that PBX/1556 is scured/encrypted? 2) Is there way we can ensure OpsCenter to authenticate with agent in backup server? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
