Backing up Remote Clustered Server
Hi all, I have the current future planned scenario: 2 file servers in HQ plus one Fiber Attached SAN and1 LTO 7 Robotic Library 1 file server in remote Datacenter plus one Fiber Attached SAN 2 200MB fiber connecting HQ and Datacenter Veritas Backup Exec installed on a 4th server in the HQ All three servers will be a DFSR based cluster Now, in the scenario that both file servers fail in the HQ and I'm forced in to working from the file server and storage in the Datacenter, what would be the best way for backup exec to still carry on backing up the remote data? Unfortunately I can't purchase any more equipment due to the budget! Any help on this scenario would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!427Views0likes0CommentsVeritas Presentation at the Data Storage Innovation Conference 2015
This year Rajagopal Vaideeswaran and I had the pleasure to represent Veritas at the Data Storage Innovation Conference in Santa Clara. This is the second edition of this conference and it provides great content and trends from different storage vendors. As we could see in the conference, the future of storage is about commoditization and software defined.1.4KViews7likes3CommentsSoftware-defined Storage Architecture for Analyltics Computing
Software Defined Storage is modifying the way storage is being consumed. With the increase of cores per server and server-side storage slots available, software is the key aspect to virtualize all those components and unlock the performance and capacities of faster networks and processors.1KViews5likes0CommentsSoftware Defined Storage at the Speed of Flash
Symantec and Intel introduced a Solution Overview for a storage management architecture using Software Defined Storage and Intel PCIe drives with NVMe support in another blog entry. The proposed solution offered better performance with a fraction of the costs of all flash arrays.1.4KViews6likes2CommentsImproving Efficiency and Reducing Risks with Storage Foundation ASLs
There are several aspects that prove that Storage Foundation is an enterprise storage management tool that has been used for years on the most critical environments. Recently I had the opportunity to use the NetApp EF550 all flash array with Storage Foundation Cluster File System (CFS). Both products are a perfect fit, as the design of CFS can maximize the all flash array performance.698Views9likes0Comments
