So let's say I have a local master server "master1" and a local media server "media1" and a remote media server (DR) "remotemedia1". I currently have both "media1" and "remotemedia1" set up as puredisk server with MSDP. So when I do catalog backup, I have my 1st copy backup to "media1" then duplicate to "remotemedia1". Now, let's say my local environment has been completely destroyed - so we need a DR ! ** 1st thing I do is def rebuilding my master server. Now I will have to connect "master1" to "remotemedia1" .... since master1 is newly rebuilt, the previous relationship was broken. Does anyone know how I can reestablish this so I can do Catalog restore from the puredisk pool of remotemedia1? Any reference is appreciated. thanks!!Solved3.3KViews0likes1CommentHow to restore MSDP master/media server after disaster
Hello, This is my first post. We have two NetBackup 7.0.1 servers. Both W2008R2 ent. Both VMs. We use MSDP feature. Both servers have 10Tb drives to hold images. Catalog backup jobs are configured. Key file is copied over the network to another DC. Catalog restore process is clear for me. The question is: Are there any additional steps to restore CRDB? 10Tb drives? Could you please provide best practice/manual? Thank you in advance.Solved2.1KViews0likes2CommentsSystemstate restores failed with media error

But not able to restore successfully. Master server NBU 7.1.0.2. Any idea to fix this? In my environment, I keep 1 month of DAG backups in MSDP. I've had a restore request going back 3 months. Granular restores work fine for items that are in MSDP and I understand that GRT only works from disk, so I've used the Java Admin Console to duplicate most of the images from tape back into MSDP (there are a couple of tapes still offsite) In the Java Admin Console I attempt a restore based on the date range the tape images were written; I see the DAG hiearchy and navigate down the structure and finally expand the "Database" item. This shows the list of mailboxes, I locate the one I want and click the icon to expand it and nothing happens (I expect to see a list of folders starting with "Top of Information Store") I had this same behaviour before I duplicated the tapes back to MSDP, so not sure what's going on.... How do I query what mailboxes are in the backup images? (to check if the mailbox I want is on a tape I have duplicated or is it on a tape that is still offsite?)881Views0likes1CommentJava Console not restoring files to copy of original server, only to master media server
We are trying to restore a full server backup from the Java console on one of our media server, (not master media server). The backup was taken as "Standard", and we are using Standard as the restore option. We direct the restore not to the original server, but to a hyper VM. In the restore log, the job tries to restore the files to the master media server.555Views0likes1CommentUpgrade Symantec Netbackup Puredisk (PDDO) 6.6 to Symantec Netbackup 7.5
