HELP!!! CANT RESTORE WINDOWS 7
Hallo. Experts, geeks, MVP’s,J I hope you people can help. We currently have a very big problem. Suddenly we cannot backup and restore any windows 7 pc. Our image is deployed with software central. It’s both x86 and x64 image. Our server that deployed the image is a Microsoft server 2012 . So our system partition is 350 mb and c drive the remaining space. There are non-backup programs that can restore it. We have used: Symantec v.11 /v. 13 Snapshot. Acronis. Hdclone We have tried all sorts of setting in bios and so on. The funny thing is that a windows xp is no problem. Even if we install a windows 7 by hand from a DVD. No problem. Our other department have build there image a bit different. There is no system partition. It’s all on the c drive. That is also working fine to restore. We even tried to build the BCD from scratch. With no luck. We have sent one of our pc’s to snapshot in Germany they also could not restore it. Our hardware is HP elitedesk from 8100 to the newest 800 g1 its business pc. So they have all got a tpm chip installed. So guys what could we have missed. What could possibly be the problem???Solved3.1KViews2likes16CommentsSSR 2011 not showing failed or missed backups.
Hi, I'm using a SSR 2011 Management Solutions. Here i've setup 2 policy's and 1 filter, meaning that a client receives 2 Backup Jobs. Through the Management Agent the SSR 2011 on the client does receive its Jobs. Each Jobs has a different destination. When the first Job has been done succesfully but the second Job has failed. It reports to the home screen that the system has been fully backed up. The Jobs are running every week, but i found a Computer that had missed a job for half an year without reporting that it has missed a job. How do i change this that every missed or failed job is reported. With Kind regards and thanks in forward, Dennis VelthuisSolved2KViews0likes31CommentsPossible to reinstate DC after recovery if you didn't check off the option?
Hi, I had to recover my server from an unexpected rollback yesterday using Backup Exec System Recovery 8.0 to restore an image from earlier in the week (10/29). I didn't realize I needed to check off the Preserve domain trust token on destinationoption that perserves the Active Directory information when doing the restore and now I have a PDC that cannot communicate with any other computers on my network. (The network is only 1 PDC which is WIndows 2003 SBS and 5 Windows XP clients.) When running dcdiag, I am getting the following: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>dcdiag Domain Controller Diagnosis Performing initial setup: Done gathering initial info. Hi All, I've HP Proliant DL360p with a single partition (C:\) and also an hidden partition unallocated 100mb. I've installed Symantec Backup Recovery 2013 and when I try to run a backup, I don't find C:\ partition on the software, only the hidden partition. Do you have any suggestion? Dear friends, I've just acquired a 4TB USB 3.0 external drive for image backups of one of my servers and found out the hard way that Windows Server 2008 R2, although being able to format the drive and read/write to it, is having trouble when I try to do a VSS backup. This drive is exclusively my backup destination, whicha few articles in Symantec's Knowledgebase mention should not be a problem. They should not be the drive backed up, but they could be backed up to according to the articles. Well, that's not happening and VSS gives me the dreaded12293and 8193VSS errors while my backup does not run at all. A Backup without VSS is useless to me, so I must find a way to backup to this 4Kb sector size drive in Windows Server 2008 R2. I already checked Microsoft compatibility update KB982018 is installed and also checked that the HGST Touro I'm using does not support changing sector sizes from 4096 back to 512 (there's no tool for that purpose in their support site). I hope someone has found a way to make VSS run with SSR 2013 and 4K drives as backup destination only........ Regards, Jose.1.2KViews1like9Commentspermissions missing after restoring the backup

Hi, I cloned a linux CentOS hard drive of a server PC which included a LVM. Then I connected my external hard to the usb port of my laptop. I wanted to boot my laptop from the CentOS of external hard so i could use the programs which were installed on PC.So I restarted the laptop and press F11 button to select the desired OS. I can see the CentOS of external hard but when select it the following message appears: ========================================= Booting 'CentOS (2.6.18-308.24.1.e15)' root (hd0,0) Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83 kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18-308.24.1.e15 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x1e00, size=0x1cf514] initrd /initrd 0 0x37e62000, 0x18d36e bytes] Memory for crash kernel (0x0 to 0x0) notwithin permissible range Red Hat nash version 5.1.19.6 starting unable to access resume device (/dev/VolGroop00/LogVol101) mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root' setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! ============================================ by the way, when i log in to windows of my laptop and use Virtual Box, i can mount both boot and lvm partition of external hard and i can see the content of lvm and the programs of my interest.but i cant run the programs. Two weeks ago, I backed up my C and D partitions on my Windows 7 64bit computer. I backed up with G15 and had done so many times with no need to use therecoverypoints. My computer had an event and I suddenly last week had need to use the recovery points. I tried G15 SRD to recover the images on my partitions but this failedI supect because incorrect SRD drivers needed to recognize my computer network.. I tried many things. I then purchased SRS2013 (and activated) and could not get the job done with it either. I could not create a custom SRD that would boot on my computer with SRS2013. My computer is a UEFI. So the recovery environment (SRD) is not working. I tried restoring within the program but this failed.Restore Anywherethus is not available. Upon verification of the recovery points they check out as being fine. So, I am in Limbo between 15 and 2013 and nothing seems to be able to recover the computer even though the recovery points check out as fine. Any suggestions (I humbly ask)? If I could only recover the Windows 7 C Drive it would save what will be hours and hours of reinstalling and reconstituting my computer feel and setup. I would much like to avoid this. So, thanks for any help. Summary: 1. Need to create afunctionalSRD, perhaps with Broadcom WLAN Drivers. 2. Recovery points are G15 recover points vaild for install with SSR2013? Should somehow a recovery be possible from these recovery points? 3. Need to find a vehicle to recovery C and D image: Restore Anywhere? Restore from a virtual drive? Thanks for your input, thought and time! Be well hand happy!!!.1KViews0likes7Commentsbacking when the source is a network drive in other host
