Symantec DLO 7.5 not working on Windows 8
Hi, We have an implementation of Symantec DLO with number of Windows 7 and some XP SP3 workstations that works OK. There are two Windows 8 that at first did not permit DLO agent installation, but after enableing Remote Registry Access, DLO agent was successfully installed. The problem is that DLO agent does not work with normal user logged in. If we login as a user that has administrator priviledges, then DLO agent does work and backups are working. We did search the KB and tried uninstall and install (from setup.exe, on local machine). We also tried to manualy enter the user into DLO Administrator. Nothing helps. Any clues? Hello, I am using DLO 7.6 on Server 2012 R2. I have a DLO server in my data center which is running all roles. If I am connected to the corporate network my DLO client can connect and backup data to my Network User Data Folder on the DLO server. However, when I connect to the network by VPN I cannot connect. I immediately get the following popup: If I used Windows Explorer I get an error when I try to connect to the Network User Data Folder: However, if my laptop is connected to the corporate network I can browse the Network User Data Folder. There are no errors from what I can see in the logs what are related to this issue. Any ideas on why I cannot authenticate and get permission while connecting by VPN. Hi! I have a problem starting DLO Agent,displays a message: "there is no email program associated to perform the requested action..." check the file association is ok. check register in regedit ok. hi, we have alerts set up to email administrator when a new user gets configured on a laptop. we are seeing multiple alerts when a user logs into their own laptop, even though they are already configured. no changes to profiles are made. this has started happening only in dlo8.1 anyone else experiencing this? hi i'm having an issue after upgrading to dlo8 agent. when i log into a laptop with a user that does not have a dlo account, i'm unable to select disable user without getting an error message saying "please enter correct password". if i press cancel, it goes away, until the next time i log in, it prompts me again for dlo credentials on dlo 7.6 agenti did not have this issue. anyone have any ideas how we can resolve this? I have a confusing problem on one of our Windows 8 computers. The DLO Desktop Agent runs fine for all users on this computer except for one. This one user gets "The database server name is not specified in the registry" error whenever he logs in. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the client multiple times and checked the registry to verify that it had the correct server listed in the DefaultMediaServer key (it does). We've eliminated the firewall as a potential cause and the user himself; he can log into other machines and DLO backs him up just fine. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what else we could try aside from re-creating his user profile. We are running DLO 7.0. Thanks! Jake594Views0likes1Comment
