Back up is slower than usual
We are using Symantec backup exec15 and when we run the back up, It is slower than usual, In job history, previous Job rateis 1000MB/min but now it became 500mb/min , please advise what to do to increase the performance. it was taking only 7 hours to do the process before but now it is taking 1 day already. Restore SQL Database
Hello Guys, I am having problem restoring SQL database and what is old is the fact that something the job will run and be successfully; however, the majority of the issue I am seeing is below capture from the Sgmon log. 2014 backwards compatible with 2012
Customer recently experienced hardware failure on Windows 2008 server with Backup Exec 2012 installed. Realizing BE2012 is EOL and not available for download, we're trying to confirm if newer versions (21.x, 20.x etc.) are backward compatible and could be used to perform recovery of BEDB from the BE2012 version or if we would need to download\install an older version (2014, 15.x, 16.x)? I've been unable to locate definitive list of backward compatibly for these older versions. Again, realizing all these older version are also EOL, we're just looking for any option to attempt disaster recovery of BE2012 instance. Thank You.
Data migration from old tape to san storage
We need to migrate data from old tape ( LTO3 & LTO4 ) to san storage. Issue here is, we don't know which tape consists of what data.... We have around 180 tapes data to be restored. Any suggestion ? Thanks Note : Currently we are using different backup solution not Veritas backupexec.
Backup Definition Properties Selection list blank
Backups have been going fine for years and I haven't had a reason to go in to this section of Backup Exec in a while. Recently I realised that I had the incremental tapes storing for 2 weeks and decided to switch it to 1 to be in line with my other backups and conserve tapes. This is when I found that the Selections list was coming up with a red X and blank list. Whats weird is that other than this the job and it incremental work as expected. I have 5 seperate jobs, which do not have this issue, but this one happes to be our core job that backs up 17 servers. I Just wanted to see if there is a way to get the selection list to populate again with out having to delete and reconstitute that job again. I have multiple backup sets on one b2d device, and when restoring, starting from certain date and older backups give this error "Final error: 0xe0008105 - Invalid Physical Volume Library Media Identifier." and "V-79-57344-33029 - Unable to acquire device for the specified pool and media", while newer backups from the same device just work fine. Catalog doesn't help as well as it gives "0xe00084ca - The data being read from the media is inconsistent" error (V-79-57344-33994). Disable Data Lifecycle Management didn't help as well P.S. when browsing that old backup sets, I can view folders and files, but just can't restore I'm just out of ideas, so please anyone
