Veritas Cloud Mobility
Hello Everyone, I have few questions on Veritas Cloud Mobility: 1. If I am not wrong Veritas Cloud Mobility is same as VRP the only exception being Cloud Mobility is one time migration & VRP can be used to move data from on prem to cloud/DR site any no of time. Correct? 2. If I have 2 linux servers(physical boxes). A hyper V server with 4 VMs and a Vmware server with 5 VMs. what Licenses will be needed for Veritas Cloud Mobility and Veritas Resiliency Platform?SolvedBachchan7 years agoLevel 65.9KViews0likes4Commentsvrp datamover

Hello, I am testing the VRP platform. The scenario is: - main site: VMware Vcenter - standby site: Vcloud Director The migration from Vcenter to VCD works fine. After the migration, the VRP data movers are connected/consistent/active with lag 0. Unfortunately I cannot migrate back because there is an error "Host is not added to the IMS on the recovery data center.". And indeed, the host remains on the source data mover, where it is shown as disconnected (it is not moved by the Migrate action to the standby data mover). I am completely stuck and out of ideas. Am I doing something wrong?victorstanescu7 years agoLevel 34.5KViews0likes4CommentsSeamless migration to Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services with Veritas CloudMobility
The difficulty of migrating workloads to the cloud depends on several factors: the time sensitive nature of the move, the amount of data and the complexities of the IT services to be moved. Most organizations have a set budget and timeline to accomplish this, and failure to migrate per the business plan can have expensive consequences. Making it into the public cloud like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, doesn’t necessarily mean a stress-free business life. For a successful migration and business environment, there are some important factors that need to be considered. • How do I ensure successful migration? • Will I lose control of my workloads once they are in the cloud? • How resilient is the public cloud? • Will I be locked-in? There are four key steps to creating a successful and stress-free cloud migration journey: testing and re-testing your migration strategy before runtime; ensuring your visibility into business IT health once you are in the cloud; making sure you are resilient against cloud outages; and being prepared to move out of the cloud if necessary. Veritas CloudMobility, powered by Veritas Resiliency Platformhelps ensure seamless workload migration to the cloud. It gives you the flexibility to adopt the multi-cloud on your terms and run workloads successfully at your target of choice. Automated, non-disruptive testing helps ensure successful migration, and if you change your mind, you can simply migrate back to on-premises or another cloud with easy, single-click operations. Hi all, Is there any plan to support new operating systems like SUSE Linux Enterprise? Or the applications running in that not supported platforms must be managed by VCS, then by VIOM, then by the Resiliency Manager? Thank you in advance for your help. Hello I dont have much knowledge on VRP. If someone can answer some questions will appreciate. 1. If I have Hyper V with VMs running in Primary location and want to replicate to DR site using Hyper V replica. Do I need VRP DATA MOVER License? Is core VRP core license be enough? 2. If I am using NBU in primary location to protect physical & virtual inf running on both Hyper V & Vmware and using NBU AIR to replicate to DR site. Will I need VRP DATA MOVER license? Is core VRP license be enough? 3. If I want to replicate Hyper V/Vmware VMs to public cloud AWS,Azure,Google etc will I need VRP Data Mover? 4. VRP cannot be used for Physical servers.
