All Tapes faulty?

Hi,
I'm running BackupExec10d on a HP StorageWorks Ultrium 460 since Dec 2005.
Everything was fine until Dec 2006.
Now the backup jobs ask for a new tape after backing up only 170 GB.
I have tested the drive with HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools. The result was, that the drive works perfectly. Then I tested the tapes and all tapes seam to be faulty. The test says:" The drive could not write data to the data cartridge with sufficient margin" and "It is not adviseable to use this data cartridge for backup"
How can this be? The tapes are only 1 year old and some of them were only written once a month (12 times in one year).

I'm greatful for any help.

Try cleaning the drive correctly (maybe you should purchase a new cleaning tape instead of new data tapes first).

If the problem persists, try a new data tape...

Finally, try updating the drivers and/or firmware. Maybe there's been a Windows update recently and you need to update as well the drivers.

It's strange, but sounds a hardware issue.
