Backup gets aborted - With OFO error

We get the following error message when trying to backup

OFO: Static file has grown to maximum size and cannot be incremented anymore."

We have tried to increase the Static volume size to 4000Mb but the error message still comes.

Can anyone advice?

    The problem may occur when you're non-allocated memory pool is reaching the maximum (see client system info). On NT4 the maximum (by default) is about 90Mb and with W2K about 190Mb. Search micrisoft for the registry key to change

    what this has to do with OFO beats me but here lays the problem
