  • is there a virus scan or another service that runs on those days?

    Check TaskManager and see if there are any other applications using a lot of memory/cpu... both on the days when the backup is fast and when it is slow - so you can determine if something else is running on Thursday/Friday.

    there is no task or application different to the other days, but i have seen that there was other errors like:

    OFO: Insufficient system resources exist to initialize OFO.
    OFO: Error during backup. Set has been canceled.

    Unexpected end of backup set encountered on COMPAQ 1.

    in the knowledgebase i have found that there will be a hotfix for the otman4.sys and otman5.sys, but the version of BE 8.6.3808 are not supported
