BE 2010 R3 SP1 Patchbug Dedup Option won´t install

Hi,

i have found a problem when doing a clean installation of windows server 2008 x64 R2 Enterprise + all patches and backup exec 2010 r3 sp1 + all hotfixes.

When i try to install the deduplication option, the setup fails with the following error  "C:\ConfigMSI\PTDA9A.tmp" is newer than expected (something like that) ...

I know that the deduplication option will install without any hotfixes, so i tried to uninstalled them.

During the uninstallationprocess of hotfix 170962 the same error occured.

So i first removed all other hotfixes, and finally the hofix 170962. (Don´t know why it worked this way)

 

After that, i was able to install the deduplication option without any errors.

So i gave it a try to update BE again, now the updateroutine say:

Can somebody confirm that?

    Hello RobSch,

    This is a known issue with Hotfix 167567. So after removing Hotfix 167567 you can install deduplication option and then install Hotfix 167567 back.

    Issue with Hotfix 170962 installation it seems is something different. 

    Please download this patch manually and then try to install it. Update the post if manual install also fails.

    Hello RobSch,

    This is a known issue with Hotfix 167567. So after removing Hotfix 167567 you can install deduplication option and then install Hotfix 167567 back.

    Hotfix167567, isn´t the problem.

    (It´s hotfix 170962, when it is installed, the installation of the deduplication option fails. If hotfix 170962 is removed, theres no issue with the dedup option. After the dedup option have been installed, live update won´t be able to install this hotfix again (see the picture above). I have downloaded the hotfix 170962 from your link and it worked well, seems that the liveupdate package is corrupt or something like that.)

    EDIT: I was wrong, i was able to intall hotfix 170962 manually but dedup wont work.
