forgive my lack of knowledge, and i thiought i had a very good grasp on back up exec and it's capabilities, but how would you suggest doing this? are you saying that back up exec can set the back up location through the use of a variable -thus recreating the back up set before each time a job is run? Does it matter that this is a legacy Linux agent as compared to a windows box? i also am not sure that the back up server is connecting to the Linux box with the right credentials. i am supposed to specify this at here correct?;

this is the same information that connects successfully with jobs created through the GUI.
