Best Practice for Dedupe

Hi, I've recently purchased the Deduplication license and have set up a couple of test jobs which first backup to the dedupe drive then duplicate to tape. My question's are - What are the guide...

    Running jobs concurrently does not necessarily mean that the overall time would be reduced.  The jobs would be contending with each other for resources.  This applies to all jobs, regardless of whether they are using dedup or not.  If you take a look at the resource requirements for the dedup option, you can surmise that dedup operation is very resource intensive, especially on the media server.  Using client-side dedup will relieve some pressure on the media server.  To know the optimal number of concurrent jobs for your environment, you would just have to experiment.

    You can run tape jobs concurrent with dedup jobs.
