Global Exclusions for BEX 2012 Possible?

Hi,

I am trying to setup global exclusions for BEX 2012 like we had in previous versions, 9 on up to 2010.

For example I have the following to not backup any temp folder in Local Settings on the system.  It would do this for any server, drive, and so on:

\\*\*\*\*\Local Settings\Temp*\

file selection would be *.*

There are other folders that I would have excluded also like:

\\*\*\  filename pagefile.sys
\\*\*\*\Temp*\
\\*\*\Windows\$Nt*\
\\*\*\*\$ExchUninstall*\
\\*\*\*\*\spool
\\*\*\Temp\

Having these in helped a lot to not backup temp folders and other files that are not needed that can be big, like the pagefile.sys.

Is there anyway to have this into BEX 2012?

The most convenient would be the Local Settings since one server we backup is a terminal server and have about 30 people access that so the temp folders can be large.

Thanks for any information on this.

  • Yes, you can specify global excludes in 2012..

Click on the BE icon on extreme top left corner, choose Configuration and Settings, & then choose Job Defaults...

Choose exclude selections & then insert per your preference
