  • 1. As I said earlier, uninstall any Insight software. 2. You need to install the Microsoft driver using the procedure in this document http://www.veritas.com/docs/000027467

  • 1) If you are running the HP Insight software, uninstall it

    2) Make sure that the tape library appears in the Windows Device Manager as an Unknown Medium Changer with a Microsoft driver and the take drive should have a Symantec driver. Both devices must be functioning correctly in the Device Manager.

    3) Run the HP LT&T utility against both devices to check for hardware errors. Make sure you select the write test and that you have stored all the BE services beforehand

  • 1.  HP Insight management agent - uninstall , installed only HP Insight management WBEM Providers for Windows

    2. MY OS is windows 2012 r2 - drivers Medium Changer devices and Tape drivers - Hewlett Packard installed

    3. HP LT&T utility all test passed

  • This document also discusses that Insight Agents (Including the WBEM components) may need disabling or uninstalling

  • Please check you adamm.log as it will give more details about why the device went offline.  Please post your adamm.log here and we will help you decode it.

I would suggest using hte Microsoft tape drivers rather than the HP tape drivers.
