Optimum installation on DC or File erver

All,

I inherited an environment which has a Windows Domain, that is running the backup exec software and a Windows File Server, running the agent, which has the storage attached.  Is there a performance hit due to the software running on the machine without the storage attached?

    Definitely, the data always flow to the BE Server then to the storage.

      Thank You pkh.  So what you're saying is that I should install the BE on the file server which the storage is connected?  Sorry for the noob questions...

        Yes.

        Also, having BE on the DC makes recovery more difficult.
