Upgrading BE2010 to BE2010 R3

Is it possible to do an in-place upgrade from BE2010 to BE2010 R3 or does it require a clean install.

Current system is SBS 2008 64bit

Thanks

  • Hi,

    Nope, you can upgrade.

Stop the BE services, and grab copies of the Data/Catalogs folders. If you have the ISO, mount/burn it, and then run the upgrade. You can use your current license keys.

Once done, run LiveUpdate to install the latest BE 2010 R3 SP and any additional patches before push-installing these to any remote servers you might have.

    Thanks!

  • You can do an in-place upgrade.

Grab a copy of the Data & Catalog folders prior to the upgrade.

Download & run the installer for BE 2010 R3. Proceed ahead with the default prompts.

Post upgrade, run LiveUpdate couple of times.

Push the Remote Agents to the remote servers.
