VCS Simulator - credentials

I have downloaded VCS simulator 5.1 for practice. I tried to access cluster instance but its prompting for user name password. I don’t know what that is. I tried my best to find the how to use document, but no gain so far.

Could you please someone help me in this.

Thanks

  • Hi gananthg,

If you are using the default cluster configurations that come with the simulator then you would need the following:

    User:  admin
    Password: password

Alternatively, you can find the user name in the main.cf file of the cluster configuration that you are trying to open.

I think the simulator does not actually decode the password any more.  As long as you get the username correct it should let you in regardless of the password entered.

    Thanks,

    Wally

  • You don't actually have to supply a password when logging into a cluster simulator instance since no password authentication takes place.  Simply entering a valid user name will log you in successfully.

All the pre-built simulated clusters use "admin" as a default administrator's user name, but if you've added a cluster configuration with a different user name you'll have to use that.
