Getting Error Failed to initialize EMM connection. Please help...

    Hi,

     

    one thing I notice:

    :\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bpclntcmd -self
    gethostname() returned: mokscy3uvgfpa02.itservices.sbc.com
    host mokscy3uvgfpa02.itservices.sbc.com: MOKSCY3UVGFPA02.ITServices.sbc.com at 135.188.39.124 (0x7c27bc87)
    host mokscy3uvgfpa02.itservices.sbc.com: MOKSCY3UVGFPA02.ITServices.sbc.com at 135.188.42.81 (0x512abc87

    Why is it giving you 2 different IP addresses for the same host? You should only have 1.Do you have this host in DNS too? with the 135.188.42.81 IP? that IP is not showing in your /etc/hosts file. What does bpclntcmd -pn show on the media server (this will tell you what the Master server thinks the IP is.

Issus is now fixed after i mentioned the below entries on Media Sever and also i hash to  Master Server:

Just had a query when  i run the command bpclntcmd -self and bpclntcmd -pn i am getting the below output.

D:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bpclntcmd -pn

Again 2 ip address,but what i think is Media Server can idetify the IP Address with different host names configured,i.e one is ITSERVICES.sbc.com and the other one is EBR Interface.

Tell me if i am wrong somewhere.....
