Request to be able to change default export size.

Would like to have the default size of exports to be a configurable value even beyond the current 600Mb limitation.  Veritas support is telling me that it is hard coded to the 600Mb value due to this being a size that will fit on traditional cdrom which the courts will accept.  In our case, we have financial audits which allow other forms of media such as memory stick which can be multiple Gb in size.  Having a single pst file not only is more efficient, less time consuming, but will additionaly streamline operations for our large compliance environment.  I understand that there used to be limits of pst's beyond a certain size, but these limits have been removed using later versions of outlook.

I welcome any feedback or input as well as other people who think this is a great idea.

  • What version of DA?   https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000086947.html

    Problem

In Microsoft Outlook 2002 and previous versions the maximum allowed size for a PST file was set at 2GB. A certain amount of corruption protection has been implemented and PST files created as part of the DA export process are limited to a maximum size of 1.5GB. In post Outlook 2002 versions the PST format changed from ANSI to Unicode and subsequently the maximum allowable file size for a Unicode PST file is set to 20GB. (This can be increased to 50GB via a registry key).

When exporting data from DA to a Unicode PST there is still a coded limit of 1.5GB and there is currently no way for a DA export to be split into larger PST file sizes.
