Exporting and recreating split PST files
Hello, Using Discovery Accelerator 9, I've exported out a significant amount of email for a custodian (about 50GB). I've selected to export as 'Original Type' and to encapsulate in a PST format. Doing this, I've run across a couple of questions that I'm not able to answer fully and I'm hoping someone here can do so. Question 1: The PST files split into 1.32GB size chunks and seems to divide the PST files exactly on this size (like a zip file). After looking at a PST file, it seems to possibly parse the msg files in different PST files. Meaning an email with one attachment can possibly save the email in one PST and the attachment in another. Is this something that it does? If so, is there an option to have it not do this? Question 2: After the above, it also looks like it does not retain original folder structures (maybe it never had one being in the archive). If this is correct, is there another method of export that may solve that? Thanks so much for any help.Solved2.3KViews0likes7CommentsDiscovery Accelerator Automatically accept search results issue
I create a schedule search in DAwith automatically accept search results, the search come back with results, but the status is pending acceptance (errors), the errors were caused by some indexes were not searchable, some archives associate accounts were disable in AD; Just wondering is it possible to bypass the search errors to still automatically accept all search results?1.1KViews0likes1CommentExporting mail details without restoring
Hi, I’m looking for an option to export emails details from EV. For some security reasons we are looking for ability to get dataset of all emails in selected period. The data required should not include mail content/body and no need to restore the emails from the archive. All we need is just details about sender, receiver, date of sending, and is attachment was sent. Is it possible? Thanks in advance!digoch3 years agoLevel 11KViews0likes1CommentMoving DA databases
We want to move ourDiscovery Acceleratordatabases from one SQL server (SQLOLD\Vault) to a new SQL server (SQLNEW\Vault). We don't use Compliance Accelerator at all, just DA. I'm trying to work out a plan for moving them, and am a little confused about the difference between the steps outlined in this article: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH51129 OR, just logging in to http://daserver/EVBAAdmin as the vault service account and changing the pointers/DSN's there. Am I confusing two separate configurations? We are JUST moving the DA databases right now, and leaving theactual enterprise vaultdatabases in place where they are. The part that has me confused is that right off the bat, the "AcceleratorManager.exe.config" has a DSN line that references a db that doesn't exist ("Initial Catalog='EVConfiguration'). We do not have that db in our SQLOLD\Vault instance, so is this file really where the config is coming from for DA? Under the EVBAAdmin site, there are two DB's configured, one called "CustodianManager" and another that was configured with a custom name related to our organization (call it "Company_Name" for a generic description) and both have DSN's listed that point to them in the correct location on the existing SQL server (SQLOLD\Vault). To just move the DA databases, can I simply stop EVAMS services, detach and move the DB's, log in to http://daserver/EVBAAdmin as vault service account and update the DSN's/pointers, and restart EVAMS services? [EDIT]: OK, my bad. We DO have the EVConfiguration database on our SQLOLD\Vault server. Is this db a part of Enterprise Vault, or is it a part of DA? If we are not moving the EV databases yet, can I leave the .config files alone and simply change the database DSN's in http://daserver/EVBAAdmin after moving "CustodianManager" and "Company_Name" customer databases? Or do I need to also move EVConfiguration, and modify the five .config files in the program installation dir?SolvedMatthew_J4 years agoLevel 44.6KViews0likes9CommentsDA Export in error, after Retry ALL items export
Hello all, DA experts, DA 12.5.3 A case with a lot of items on hold. 1 search with 5512739 items. This search to be exported to ZIP file, with Exclude similar items. 3957896 items similar, so1554843 should be exported. During export, the export goes into ERROR. When a Retry is done, the export goes back into ERROR fast, but the EXPORT remains running, and the count goes over what is expected. Current count is 1729690.. I thought a retry would obey the same setting is the original.. Anyone an idea what this might be?SolvedGertjanA4 years agoModerator1.5KViews0likes2Commentsbulk reject pending searches
Hi All, I am in the process of upgrading DA for a customer and found that there are a large number of pending searches in various cases. As it is recommended to check for any pending searches, exports before upgrade and reject them, I am looking for a SQL query to bulk reject all pending searches, exports. Thank you! This is a simple question, but I'm afraid the answer will be anything but. We need to find a way to export all Search Hold Reports from DA such that we have the criteria itself that was used for each Hold. We are not looking to export any data from EV, only the information that went into placing that data on hold. Hello, I have been requested to build a specific search in Discovery Accelerator. Below is what is being asked.... (Price /5 fee*) AND (cost* OR tax* OR overhead OR margin OR expense*) (Price /5 rate*) AND (cost* OR tax* OR overhead OR margin OR expense*) (Price /5 billing) AND (cost* OR tax* OR overhead OR margin OR expense*) What is being asked is to find emails that contain the word Price and 5 words after it would have either fee*, rate* or billing and the other words listed in ( ). I do not know how to write this in the discovery accelerator search terms. Has anyone come across this before?michaellud4 years agoLevel 1871Views0likes1Comment
