Add volume to exisiting Advanced Disk Pool

You can add a new diskpool, then merge the new diskpool with existing.

say that I must change  the state of disk pool to DOWN in Device Monitor but in Device monitor I see only Tape devices. It means, that I can change the status only in command line by command

nbdevconfig -changestate -stype AdvancedDisk -dp disk_pool_name
–dv vol_name -state state

?

Table 4-1 in the manual says the following:

When you merge the disk pools, specify the original disk pool as the primary one. NetBackup deletes the secondary disk pool after the merge.

See “Merging AdvancedDisk disk pools” on page 56.

On page 56, it says:

To merge AdvancedDisk disk pools
1 Change the state of each disk pool to DOWN.
See “Changing AdvancedDisk disk pool state” on page 53.

Page 53 shows how this can be done using the GUI:

To change AdvancedDisk disk pool state
1 In the NetBackup Administration Console, in the left pane, select Media
and Device Management > Device Monitor.
2 Select the Disk Pools tab.
3 Select the disk pool.
4 Select either Actions > Up or Actions > Down.

What happens if you select disk pool name and right-click?

I cannot create new disk pool in GUI mode  with three volumes backup/sdb, backup/sdc and backup/sdd.

There are   two volumes  backup/sdc and backup/sdd  in  old pool and backup/sdb  is  new  volume disk.

If I create new disk pool POOL2 with new volume backup/sdb and then run merge

with old  disk pool POOL1 with volumes  backup/sdc and backup/sdd by command:

nbdevconfig -mergedps -stype AdvancedDisk -primarydp  POOL2 disk_pool_name -secondarydp POOL2

Will I  receive a resulting disk pool POOL2  with three volumes  backup/sdb, backup/sdc and  backup/sdd  ?
 

No. You cannot have POOL2 as primary and secondary.  If you already have backups in POOL1, best to keep POOL1. 
So, use  POOL1 as primary and  POOL2 as secondary.

As per the manual:

2.  Merge the disk pools. The following is the command syntax. The primary disk pool is the one you want to retain; nbdevconfig deletes the secondary disk pool after the merge.
nbdevconfig –mergedps –stype AdvancedDisk -primarydp disk_pool_name -secondarydp disk_pool_name
 

I  mistake in the command, I want to write this command:

nbdevconfig -mergedps -stype AdvancedDisk -primarydp POOL1  -secondarydp POOL2

After this command POOL2 wil be deleted. What capacity of result disk pool   I will have?  And with what disk volumes?

Or I don't understand something?
