Help! Restore from 2 tape spanned set fails to show all the files

Veritas 10d on Dell NAS, backup successful verify successful, files showing in log as being stored on second tape.  When you try and restore, both tapes are read, only the files on the first tape are shown.  I have deleted the catalog files and tried on a different box same setup, cannot see the files recorded on the second tape.  It is those files I'm being roasted for.  LT03 tapes using an Exabyte drive.
