licensing information regarding Netbackup

 

Hello All,

 

we would like to get some information regarding the product name/description regarding the netbackup licensing .

Could any one help us get the details...(regarding what is the purpose of each product).

 

1. SYMC NETBACKUP STANDARD
CLIENT 7.0 XPLAT 1 SERVER

 

2.SYMC NETBACKUP CLIENT
APPLICATION AND DATABASE PACK
7.0 WIN/LNX/SOLX64 1 SERVER TIER1

 


3.SYMC NETBACKUP SERVER 7.0
WIN/LNX/SOLX64 1 SERVER TIER 1
RENEWAL ESSENTIAL

    1. SYMC NETBACKUP STANDARD CLIENT 7.0 XPLAT 1 SERVER
    Windows or Unix/Linux Servers that you backup over the network (XPLAT = Cross Platform). You need one license per client.

     

    2.SYMC NETBACKUP CLIENT APPLICATION AND DATABASE PACK 7.0 WIN/LNX/SOLX64 1 SERVER TIER1
    License (in addition to Client license) needed to enable hot, online Database and/or Application backups for your network clients. You need one per server per agent. So, if you have one Exchange and two SQL servers, you need 3 of these licenses.
    Tier 1 = 1 processor socket

     

    3.SYMC NETBACKUP SERVER 7.0 WIN/LNX/SOLX64 1 SERVER TIER 1
    This is the license for you backup Master server that is also your media server (devices attached).
    Tier 1 = 1 processor socket

     

    4. SYMC NETBACKUP OPTION LIBRARY BASED TAPE DRIVE 7.0 XPLAT 1 
    You need one license for each tape drive that you have in your tape library. Standalone tape drives don't need license keys.

     

    5. SYMC NETBACKUP OPTION NDMP 7.0 XPLAT 1 SERVER TIER 1
    License needed to backup a NAS filer

     

    ALL of the above licenses must be added to the master server.

    Is it enable in "Standard Client" or "Enterprise Client"?
